Korean Subway

Old people sit.

Young people stand.

Blind beggar walking down the cars tapping his stick, not even budging when the train shakes or turns

Age 40 and under, galaxy notes. My S4 feels TINY.
Oh this lady looks 50+ having the time of her life on this heug phablet.

Guy comes in with a cart - peddling random products. This time, winter gloves that let you use your phone while having them on

Also - gangnam on the geographic subway map

Daewoo Matiz II

Its official... the Spark is really just a rebadged Daewoo Matiz... it all makes sense now

Fried food

Assorted deep fried things.
They sell this on street carts around busy shopping areas.

This assortment had..
onion rings
squid
mandu
sweet potato
potato
seaweed noodle roll thingy
pepper
shrimp
and something else i don't remember

Best Food

For those that don't know what that is... I feel sorry for your soul.

Kimchi-chigae (kimchi stew)

Its so gud.. this is one my mom made in a hurry (like 15mins) so its missing some ingredients (like tofu cubes, some leek, etc).. but still so gud.
Maybe i'll make some for you Grant.

Korean Not-Sushi (KimBap)

Top roll is the tuna one (as in canned, cooked tuna)
and the bottom is ground beef

I didn't get the tradition one yet, next time.

These have also EXPLODED in price.
Used to be about 1,500 won / roll. maybe 2,000 if you got a fancy one.
Now its straight 2,500 won (~$2.50)

you guys are probably saying, $2 for sushi?? so cheapu!
But this isn't sushi, this is a like a korean hotdog..

Drinks

My fav korean beer.. and now I know why.

They drastically changed the way the can looks,
here is a link of how it used to look: old OB can

BANNANANANA MILK.
Finally ;_; after all these years.

Its also now 1,200 won (~$1.20) instead of the 500won it used to be... gg prices.

In other news, Soju is still $1 - $1.50 and PC bang is still $1 per hour

Clean hands

First FOOD POST!!!

So we ordered some chicken (which I forgot to take any pics of), and they now give these, so you can keep your hands clean.

LOL.

shit got old after 5 secs

Horse

Who is this handsome man?

This is how we used to get around before 2004 when the first cars were built.

Korean Cars

I took this pic more for work than this blog, but cars in korea..

For a the people reading this not into cars, sorry, you can skip this one.

1. Chevy
They literally took existing daewoo cars, and put a chevy badge on them (for the ones they didn't discontinue completely)
Commercials for chevy here talk only about the 1.4L turbo engines and there are 999999 sparks.
Like I haven't even seen a Malibu (the biggest chevy they sell here - sorry impala)
ALL the sparks, from LS to LT have 2 channel parkaid as seen in the pic.

The spark also costs 8,900,000 won. That is less than $9000. WUT?!  NIGGA WUT?!?!
Its literally MORE car for less. (do they build the sparks in korea?)

They also sell the Chevy TRAX, its the chevy version of the tiny buick mini-suv
They also sell something called the Orlando? a bigger SUV.

2. Samsung
The "samsung" cars have grown, I see more than before. Even SUVs now.
I haven't looked online to see what european cars they are just rebadged, but none of them looked familiar to cars I already know about.

3. Hyundai/Kia
Of course they have all the better versions of the cars we get in the states

4. Ssangyong
I think this is only korean car company that isn't global now. They used to make mostly trucks/suvs and they still do. But I see a couple cars from them too.

Top Gear Korea

Guess what came on TV...

Guest star? Kpop stars..
They did the "Star in a reasonably priced car" with FOUR people.
FOUR different laps and times.

This is of course after they did a song 'n dance.
Sorry for the ass shot, they were turning as I took the pic, then the song was over.

Also the "reasonably priced car" was not a kia, or a daewoo cruze. It was a VW (not reasonably priced here in korea...)
I couldn't tell if it was a golf or a polo.

Antenna

Yes, That is an LG smart phone.. with an pull out antenna.

Its for watching TV.
This phone is like a year old, they sold a version in the U.S. as the LG optimus or something (sans antenna)

Korean Neo-Nazis

Looks like there are alot more of them around than before...

Lol j/k, they're buddists.

Blooger App

That is not a typo up there.

The blogger app for the phone has been acting up really bad.
I'll have entire page long posts up with 2 pictures and hit save - then it just sorta.. sorta sits there.

Then I lose it forever

FUQ DAT NIGGA SHIT.

So now I'm saving all my pics/blog ideas until I make it to a PC bang that doesn't blow giant wads of diareaha (<-- spelled so wrong, don't give a fuck)

PC bang next to subway station:
No headphones (wut)
Windows XP with IE 4(??)
USB doesn't even recognize phone
Dirty as fuck
US LoL doesn't work

PC bang, tiny place next to my house:
Headphones
Win7 - can install Chrome no problem
USB cable PROVIDED
I can put my palm on the desk without dying
US LoL patched in about 2mins (also 3.15 patch notes wtf?!)

Just to have a pic with (almost) every blog post, here is "honor and peeeeenis"
And yes, that is VCR

PC bang

"PC bang" is literally translated as "PC room"
It's a cyber cafe with dozens of rows of top end PCs and the whole place has ridiculously faster internet. (50mbps 10 years ago)

My fav one closed down :( (according to the note, closed in july)

ALL the ones in the downtown shopping area closed down....

I had to go to one by the subway station and it was shit

UFC? pfft

Korean sumo wrestling

Where the best food is made

Don't know why there is steak sause there.. she doesn't even eat it..

Technology

This is a tiny bus stop.
Like 100 people use it in a 24 hour period probably.

Huge screen with live bus info and stuff, wtf I wish I had this years ago.

EVERY bus stop has this. mind blown

yet they can't salt the damn sidewalks.....

New Wall

This post is mostly for Angie.

They have made an addition to the chest high wall at my place...

I don't even want to know where the landlord got all those old vending machines...

Ahh motherland!!

For those who don't know. I'm alive and well in Korea.

Picture (if it even looks like anything) is the moonlight wing as the plane went over the artic

Michigan Please..

De-icing the plane..

Huge Plane

I don't know if you can see the SCALE of that flap.. but its xbox HEUG.

Almost looks like a car would fit on it

Flight Menu

Looks like my start of "Only Korean Food" starts right away :)

(fyi the last item in dinner/midflight is korean)

Last flight this month!

13hr flight from DTW to ICH (incheon intl, s.korea). I was one of the first few to board.. looks like another packed flight.

if its a korean person (like 80% of this flight is), I'm going to bug them and practice some korean so I don't sound like a herp when I land.

Also,

biggest plane I've ever been in. 10 seats across!! plus usb.. mmmm infinity phone power

How...

I had to double check that I wasn't in the women's bathroom..

Club-like items

There is a big sign by the security checkin that says, "No club-like items: Baseball bats, golf clubs, etc"

Lady just got on the plane with a tennis racquet...

Wat.

She the crazy looking type too.. I fear for this flight's safety.

If I brought a badminton set, think they'll let us play across the aisle?

So it begins!

The 20+ hour trip home!

Hey lil buddy

chickan gud -leelu

In other news, I might as well start an intagram and #intagram everything I see or eat...

In the south..

Kroger doesn't sell rotisserie chicken...

they sell:

Is this...

Is this something all over the US or just here in the south?
